Hello!

I have removed the center dash part from the car in order to replace some light bulbs.
When i put everything back together the front fog lights wil not go off when pressing the button.

I did some modifications to the wiring :
With center dash part out i saw that there was no current to the light bulbs. so i took the (+) from the radio ( the + that comes on with the lights)

Might that modification be the cause?

Might it be the relay? where is it located on a 1.4 12v '98 Bravo SX.

What should I check? - handy with a multimeter.

Update:

Checked the wiring i did, it's ok.
Found one relay under the glove box, it clicked when pressing the fog lights button, a small, black, maybe 20 amp relay.
The relay is working, took it out and used a multimeter to measure the slots that the relay pins go in.

The lights are still on event with the relay out.

There are 4 pins:
2 smaller with smaller wire : one has +12v when the parking lights are on, the second has +12v only when the parking lights are on and the fog lights button is pressed.
So these work ok, including the fog switch/button.

2 bigger pins with bigger wires ( a red one and a brown one):
I believe that only the red one should have +12v, but the brown one also had +12v (with the ignition on)

Are there any other relays or fuses or any thing i should check?

Hi,

It might be that the live you modified, could be a constant live, not headlights activated, you might take a look into that.

Also the fog lights stay on even with the contact off? If that's the case it might be a constant live, not one activated by headlights turning on.

Thank you for the answer, but i did check the wire i modified is live only with the lights on.

The fog lights are on when the ignition is on.

Did you take apart the fog lights button itself? Probably it doesn't turn off anymore.

Or did you tempered with any of the wires going to or from the fog lights button?
