I have a Fiat Brava 1.4 98. During the week when going to start the car, turning the ignition there was a whirring noise, after a few turns of the ignition the car started, it has done this a few times since. Yesterday car started fine in the morning, in the afternoon when turning the ignition there was nothing. Took the battery out and charged it, put it back this morning, all was fine. This afternoon absolutely dead, charged battery for a few hours though charger showed battery was charged, put battery back, turned ignition and absolutely dead. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

It sounds like your starter was failing and has now totaly died, judging by the symptoms youve described
