hey guys have a big problem one night both headlights stopped workin at same time all other lights work perfect just have no main driving beam, i have changed the instrument stalks as thought switch may have gone in them but this has not solved problem all fuses are good has anyone got any idea whats happened cheers

Did you check the wiring? Relays? That happened to me before when I had my spotlights wired in....

have you checked the bulbs? a surge can pop two old bulbs. illikely but possible.

failing that a relay. do you have foglamps. if so best way to check if the headlight relay is activated is try turning your rear foglamp on (not the front) it will ONLY turn on if the headlights are on(or realy is activated) if it works the realy + fuse are ok! leaving the problem with the wiring to the bulbs or the bulbs themslefs...

hi cheers for that i have been told that there is no relay for the headlights if there is one where is it and whats it look like cheers

have checke and rear fog light comes on no problem at all so that leaves wiring which i presume is huge job to check and a garage trip ?

i wouldnt be able to say were the break is so you can have a look for anything obvious.

are you getting power to the bulbs? (there has to be a relay, too much power to run from a straight switch. im sure its infront of the battery but i cant remember).

if you have a electricians screwdriver see if it lights up on the bulb terminals

i'll check in front of battery i checked them but will check again and test for power supply

check your head lamp earths as well.

as in other thread wiring diagram shows a relay but i cant find it on mine....

where is the headlight earth ?
