:)Hi all,
Please can anyone tell me how to get petrol out of the fuel tank as we have just bought another Brava.
Thanks Julie.

Disconnect the fuel filter, it should all just run out of the hose there. Might take a while though.

Hi cheers for the reply but where is the fuel filter
I never tried this before but once I was told that you could disconnect the hose connecting to the fuel pressure regulator (it should be not to far from the injection rail in case it is multi-point) and then turn the ignition on so the fuel pump is activated, draining the fuel tank rather quickly.
Whatever you do, be extra careful - for obvious reasons (y)

Dont do this, youll damage the coil pack....

Safest way and easiest way is to whip out the fuel pump and siphon out the fuel. When it gets low, jack the front left of the car as high as it can go and get the rest. Whatevers left isnt worth bothering about, there will be very little petrol left and it will be most likely dirty

how even slightly will you damage a coil pack letting the pump prime the tank empty.......

and to get the pump out its in the boot under a flap. siphon it out is the easiest way imo. but priming does work fine but takes alot longer.

yeh you can do if you have a pipe long enough.

you will want to pop the top of the pump anyways to see whats left in their as its hard to tell where the end of the pipe you shove down is. takes about 5min max to pop the pump out dont worry :)
