Hi, I have a P reg brava, 1.4 sx.

The problem i have is that ever now and then i will go on a journey and the fuel injerctor?? (the red 1 that looks like a spraying hose) warning light comes on and stays on untill i turn the engine off... then when i start again on my jouney back sometime upto 2 hours later, the engine starts but as i put my foot down there is no response for a while, will not move, then all of a sudden it kicks in and then the light goes off and it drive normally..

any ideas as to what it could be? thanks... scott

Hi Scott,

The red light that looks like a spraying hose is the engine management light. Something is faulty and your car knows what it is, if you take it to Fiat or an independent garage they will be able to read the error code and tell you what is faulty. Independent garages charge on average £25 My Local Fiat wanted £70 when I checked last year.

If you ring around tell them your car uses a 3pin pre-OBD diagnostic port, save on wasted journeys.

If you tell us your cars symptoms in detail we might be able to work out the fault. Best of luck with it.
