My AC never worked but today i went out to try to find out why.
it turns out that the wire that comes to the compressor in the engine bay doesn't have any voltage on it when the ac button is pressed or otherwise.

this tells me that there is an electrical problem on the circuit.
probably a fuse or a relay.

i have tried to see if the compressor engages, making a direct link to the battery "+" and YES it does. so the compressor is fine.

I need to know where all the relays and fuses of the AC system are, ( what colors.. etc a picture is worth a thousand words).
One more question:
When the ac engages the fan on the radiator should also start to rotate even thou the engine is not at optimum temperature?

I would appreciate any help in solving this problem.

I didn't even know the 1.4s had AC,

Does the AC PUMP not have its own belt driven pulley system like the ones on the 1.6 and 1.8s basically the same belt that drives the alternator and Power steering..

I have the Fiat service manual so will have a look see what i can find i'll reply with more info soon.....(y)

of course it has a pulley that is driven by the same belt as the alternator.
the car is a 1.4 sx(whatever that means)

but the pulley on the ac compressor doesn't engage the ac compressor until it receives a signal (that meaning the AC button is pressed)

just found out there is a possibility that there is a pressure valve that might stop the compressor from engaging if there isn't enough pressure in the system.
where might that pressure valve be?

The compressor clutch is controlled by a three stage pressure switch, situated on top of the filter/drier. Item 121 in the above diagrams.

this is what i have in the little black box in front of the battery.
what do you think is missing ? if anything (p.s. i don't have ABS)

as you can see i have 2 fuse holders with no fuse in them and a relay socket with no relay.
what do the other relays belong to?

will try to find the pressure switch,
No digital odometer, simple analogical one, and no auto climate control.

Nice one AB will those wiring diagrams i was looking last night but gave up air Adobe would not give me any results on a ctrl+f.....
