hello, im a new here. My name is chris, 19 and have a bravo 100 Sx.

im planning on re-spraying all the plastic parts in the bravo a nice gloss black inc centre console, plastic bit surround the speedometer, door handles and the electric window button surround.

is there any paint to recommend? as i dont want to get any cheap spray paint.

cheers
chris.

Welcome to the forum!

I painted the main facia (where the heater controls are etc) and the vent that goes into it red, I got an old black one and took out the vents and dials, masked bits I didnt want painted, sanded it down, cleaned it up then sprayed halfords bumper spray. I let that dry then sprayed 3 coats of red using holts aerosol can, letting each coat flash off. Finally using another aerosol can this time laquer, one coat. Left for a day to fully dry. Theres a run on one side but it looks very well compared to the black it originally was. Total cost about £15. You can get full 2 pack paint and do it that way but if your careful aerosols will do the job at a fraction of the price :)

no its more of a purple shade. i dont see many bravo's with that colour around, more of the lighter blue.

Get it mixed at halfords. Had my red metallic done there for door handles/mirrors and its spot on.

ahh thank you, i never really thought of halfords, do you know what sort of price they do it for? cause i think i may need two spray cans just in case,

also does anybody know what the VR stands for of my colour?

The Problem i have is clearing the stalks. the facia is ready to come out, but like i said the stalks are the problem, is there any way of bypassing that by any chance?

Chris.

Ahhh that pic takes me back

If theyre in the way, remove them :p disconnect the clock spring and remove the cable from its holder. Either 3 or 4 phillips heads hold in the clockspring depending on the car. An allen key holds it in position around the column, then disconnect the plugs. Violá (y)

As stated above, avoid halfords and go to a well established motor fac, theyre paint is sometimes iffy

hi this is sumthing id like to get round to wen iv sorted my engine out lol was it difficulit taking out dash etc other than the stalks also have u removed the plastic round the gear n handbrake and resprayed this to i like the idea of it being black inside not dingy grey (y)

Well it wasnt as hard as i first thought. the only problem i found was some of the bolts were in very awkward places, i think my arms took all the beating, extremely tight spaces :p

Yes, the middle surround leading to the dash has been taken off, a little tip of getting it out, if you get round to doing all this of course is take the leather covering off the handbrake, then unscrew the plastic on top of the middle surround, then just release the screw(?) from the handbrake which holds the handbrake in place, then lift it up to the highest point and carefully lift the plastic surround up. and the grey i dont like that either, i still wanted it to be original looking. so black fits perfectly really!

I think you made the right decision on colour, cant wait to see it.

There was a very rare tan leather interior for the Bravo, im not sure if it was even availalbe in this country. This is what it looked like;

yeah like in my recent posts i did want to colour code it, but it was hard to find my colour, and i couldn't trust halfords to mix it either, so i think gloss black and beige/white leather dash will look delicious to me :D
