In a recent "overhaul/update" to my bravo I changed the alternator as the old one suffered horrendously when my oil cap loosened itself off and destroyed the engine bay. It ruined the old marelli alternator beyond and having so many 1.2 engines lying around i used a very late and clean 01 denso marelli 60ah. Now, after 5000rpms the battery light blinks on and off or stays on completely untill the revs dip below 5000. It's worse at night with the lights as I have 100w xenon yellows for full beams (er for "off roading and show purposes" only :p). Will I have to change my alternator again? Or is this problem caused from lack of use? Any help is appreciated!! :)

Your right ill just swap it for another one:D

By any chance would a diesel alternator fit? Ive just aquired a stuffed TD100 van for spares...

Brings to mind a conversation from years ago when an auto electrician friend of mine and myself were asked a similar question.

The Auto spark said 'mmmmmm, wiring it is dead easy, but I don't know whether it will bolt on'

I replied 'I'll get it to fit, but extending/altering the wiring worries me'

Remember an alternator works in both directions.

Cheers
