Hi all,

hope you can help a luddite regards my g/f's fiat bravo *1.6 80 SX).

Fuel injector light came on recently with mis-firing 4tc where coil was found to be cracked. Went to garage where got coil pack, HT leads and spark plugs replaced to cover all the bases.

Having fitted, worked ok for first week or so, then light on again with similar poor performance, almost like a blown exhaust noise when driving with poor power. Checked coolant level = ok, oil - ok, oil cap = ok, exhaust - no smoke,

Any suggestions what could be?

Beginning to think could be an injector issue and guessing could be ££'s or one of those damn hard to find earth issues???

thanks,

v reg.

Was working a+ several weeks ago. Unfort with renovating house at present, money bit tight so hopefully can get another =12 yeas out of car. Thanks for response.

Went out at night to view & no evidence of sparking presenty.

At pre-ignition all lights are on, injector light goes off after a few secs, however upon turning key, comes back on again with rough idlr.

I would normally suggest getting the system interogated, but I am not sure what protocol a V reg will be.

Might be worth having a look at the resistance of the temp sensor assuming all levels still correct.

Cheers

Apologies, daresay frustration was building through last night!:bang:

Will try putting some fuel additive in tonight and also try taking off each HT lead from spark-plug in turn tonight & hopefully might be able to narrow down if an injector is playing up........

Garage can't take car in until next week, so a tad frustrating. Luckily car isn't overheating when driving and fan kicks in when engine temp meets mid-gauge which was a bonus. No drinking of oil either.

THink cause is likely either to be some sensor as rallycinq (thanks) or perhaps a faulty injector somewhere. Other than that stumped in interim!

Thanks,

Scotty

These engines suffer from injector problems. I have had to change an injector on the same engine for my misses in the past. The problem is, on the 1.6 litre engine the inlet curls round the injectors and they get hot thus brake down. What I did when mine was playing up was when the problem was occurring I could 'wiggle' the inject itself and the engine would then idle perfectly, let go and the problem returned. It is a bit involved getting the things out, but they can be changed. Good luck.

Hi! Have you find a solution? I've resolved past year... i've change air pressure sensor, strange BUT works!!
