Thumbs up Idle Control Valve 1.2

(hello everyone) im thinking of buying a air control valve for my 1999 brava,as mine is playing up will the car need to go on a computer once fitted thanks.

leave negative off battery for 20mins after jobs done, the ECU will reposition the IAV when engine is started.

hi thanks for reply its the 1.2 16v: just to mention, i ask the guy that did the headgasket why the running water sound has returned told me he never got the head skimmed not happy.

whats the problem for you to need new air control valve?

and running water? is that when you turn the igniton on, but not the engine?

hi the revs stay up at 15 to 20 thousand for a few secs, after been running then drop to normal.and the water sound is herd when the car is reving

you need it skimming it'll be leaking again

the icv is very expensive new but there is something you can try take it off and place 3 1mm washers under the bolts securing it lifting the hole control actuator 1mm from the throttle body

that should sort the problem

no ecu learning is nessesary

if its the 1.2 16v, it cost me £111. for one (idle/butterfly position sensor) but not from fiat. they wanted £197. the black unit bolted onto the side of the tb

hi got the head skimmed car running like a dream now no water sounds at all.however its still revs up to 1500 rpm this only happens if the car is rolling,say if im coming down my street in neutral the revs say up around 1500rpm until i come to a stop then drops to normal.tride the three washers (thanks sultan)did`nt seem to make much differcence.

ok looks lie too much presure has built up inside the control valve you need to source a new or used one shame there so expensive

what happenes is the casing of the valve presses on the insides locking them from moving or returning properly releaving the presure with the washers usualy works

i'm not sure never taken one apart but something inside begins to swell in those be it rust or whatever

fit the part turn ignition on open throttle full and close again turn ignition off wait a minuite and start
