Hi all!
Recently I aquired a set of alfa 166 calipers, can I shoehorn them onto my 1.2 bravo without too much bother? Ie can i use the HGT mounting brackets? Thanks for any help!!

You'll have mega trouble getting HGT callipers onto a 1.2 never mind Alfa 166. Go for the Fiat Bravo 1.8 HLX callipers, as they are more or less a simple swap. That way you can have vented discs and improved braking. But the 1.2 is perfect with the brakes it has.

I would have thought the last thing a 1.2 needs is better brakes.

Are yours fully serviced and working properly?

Normaly I wouldnt go to such drastic measures but I do intend to swap the engine someday for a 1.4 16v so I'll need some better anchors....
Besides the brakes on my car have given me wicked trouble: warped discs, burned pads, seized calipers are just some of the woes I've had. I wont mention the back ones, thatll give me nightmares just thinken about that!!! :bang:

HLX spec calipers are perfectly capable of stopping a 100bhp diesel or 115bhp petrol - so they'll be enough to stop a 1.4 even in 100hp guise.
