Revs should pick up a little when car is moving and in neutral - this means, that VSS - vehicle speed sensor - is working properly. This is quite normal.

Don't know about the water - have you checked coolant level?

When You hear that water sound it is very possible that You have an air in the cooling pipes, also check the coolant level. Fill up coolant and make a deaeration of cooling system.

There are few symptoms of head gasket gone. Last time i had problem with heating, one of the excellent mechanic said it is a head gasket 99%. Took 1% chance, replaced coolant, removed air from the cooling system and it is working well now. Money saved. I would go somewhere else to confirm, i I were You, just to be sure.

No, it would be far worse than just wooshing water behind the dash.

However, if not resolved promptly, it could lead to HG failure.

Recheck the bleeding process.

Cheers

Who did the check? and how did he do it. gushing water behind the dash can be a head gasket, I use to get it it basically means you are low on water and there is air in the system, you ned to find out why there is air in there, an engine compresion test and a coolant test for Exhaust gasses will tell you about head gasket, a coolant presure test will just let you know there is a circuit leak, which is a bit obvious with the water sound in the car. Mine turned out to be head gasket, didn't bother with compresion test just Exaust gasses in coolant and the obvious - water pouring out of exhaust tail pipe kind of gave it away.

Does in knock when riding over pot holes or small holes in road, lke knock , knock ,knock then stop, if so could be lower arm ball joint, quite difficult to spot ware here as when jacked up strut spring takes up movement so not easilly spotted, especially when you check this by your self, also just make sure your road spring is not broken, myself I would be looking at lower ball joint though, which if I remember rightly is all part of lower arm so you need to change the whole arm.

Increased fuel consumption.

Test by looking for a smooth reduction in resistance as temperature rises.
