Posts: 1,235 Thanks: 6 Trader Rating: 0 | Brava RoofRack Right ive got the roofrack set from the old Tipo/tempra still and if I read it right once, I beleave this fits on the Brava too. Now im wondering how the hell you get it onto the car, as from what I gather from the manual, youve got to pull away the rubber strip to get access. Which on my brava it does appear as if it will not budge, at least to a point where if it did, it would look messy once removed

Even the pictures on Brio show the same one. So moved the rubber stip out the way and there doesnt appear to be any connecting points anywhere. How on earth is one going to fit then?

They have only been used once or twice and are pretty much in mint condition having spent most of their life in my shed unused. When i did use them i travelled from Home in Fife down to Avon/somerset with a large Halfords roofbox fitted and they didn't budge a single mm. I am also in Fife (Nr St Andrews) if interested before i e-bay them. Looking for £30 ono for them. Here's a piccy: http://photos.imageevent.com/sidandc...%20roofbox.JPG

For the moment im not in a hurry to get them sorted, but I hope there is a way to use what I have rather then get a new set. Oh and nice to have another fifer on the forum

Posts: 131 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | Re: Brava RoofRack have you got a larger picture of that? I'd like to see how they are attached to the roof of your brava. They are fixed in place using a precision fit, tension and friction ! Basically at each corner a metal lip grips onto the side of the roof within the door 'cut out' . When the door is closed the rubber door seal then covers this gripping lug. If you look closely at this area of your door you will see that the metal is angled and this is what the fastening lug grips onto. On the top of the roof there is a synthetic rubber , shaped block that is contoured to the same shape as the roof. As you tighten an allen key bolt the rubber block is compressed into the roof slightly. As i said once fitted they are rock solid. (To put this into laymans/human terms it is like you lying on top of your cars roof , then ( with the doors open) gripping the side of the roof with your finger tips, then to complete the picture having somebody slam the doors on your fingers). hope this helps . The weird thing was , having the roof box fitted was less noisy and felt less 'draggy' than just having the roof bars on. Aerodynamics are weird aren't they...
