Does anyone have experience of this problem to point me in the right direction?

I was getting two clunks from my drivers front wheel every time i set off after braking to a complete stop, and sometimes it would also go click click click with wheel rotation. I thought it was the brake pads sticking.

So I striped the brake down cleaned and re-greased pads today.

Now the double clunk from standing has gone, but the click click click is worse. It is a heavy click.

-The noise is related to wheel speed, not rpm.
-You can feel a vibration through the floor, but not the steering wheel and not the peddles.
-The car does not and has never pulled to one side under acceleration or braking.
-It happens in gear, in neutral and reverse.
-If the engine is pulling the car no noise, if I let it coast the noise starts almost every time.
-I jacked up that wheel and rotated by hand in both directions and no noise.
-I checked the wheel bearing by rocking the wheel holding it at 12-9 o'clock, no play at all.
-CV boots are ok.
-Wheel bolts are correct length.
-Turning the wheels does not make it worse or better.
-apart from me checking the brake no other work or alterations have been made.

Im guessing it is the outer CV joint, something connected to it.
