Fiat Bravo 1.6SX 16v (S reg)

Just an update on my problem I posted earlier this month.

The car is still overfulling on tick over.

Failed its MOT again on emissions.

Fast idle good and passed at 0.23%

Natural Idle CO failed at 10%.

What have I done so far.

1) New coolant temp sensor.
2) New Lambda probe.
3) another throttle body.
4) another air sensor in manifold.
5) New spark plugs

No air leaks in hoses and exhaust. Oil breather hoses are good. Fuel vapour hose is good too.

Redex in the Tank and thrashed the seven shades out of it to get it hot.

And still the car is high on tickover at 9.5%

This car is giving me the hump.

Any other suggestions to help please.

Try a bottle of Cataclean in the tank. This will bring your emissions down. Its supposed to clean the cat, but I recon it just adjusts the fuel to give you a lower reading and any benefits dissapear after you have filled up a few times. It smells like acetone, but it does work, as I've seen it done on a car that originally failed the MOT and then passed after treatment.

Not sure where you can buy the stuff as it was mail order only. You may have some luck on eBay.

However this will not sort the issue long term, but I am sure that someone more knowledgeable than I will be along to help.

Try to have your injectors cleaned with ultrasonic method....maybe this will cure your problem!
