was driving earlier today and my Brava started stuttering, the engine light went mental and the exhaust started rattling like crazy, found the car wouldn't respond to revs so well, thought it was the cat gone, took it to kwik fit and they tested it and said it was a misfire on cylindors 1+2 and said he needed to replace the coil pack/s, cant remember if he said one or two but he said they are gonna be about £80 each, is this a good price for it it seems steep to me, but then again my car knowledge is less than none.

wow thanks dude that website says £151 for my car and the garage are charging me £130 so i cant grumble. Saying that the coil pack had done 85000 miles so its done its job... bout time it had a new one lol

thanks again dont feel so resentful at handing over the money when i pick it up this afternoon lol

well £180 later and its done... they changed the coil pack and it still was the same, then they changed the HT leads and it worked, so in my opinion i've just been charged £180 to replace a bit i believe was fine and have some £30 HT leads fix the problem so slightly miffed about it all but at least its running

you'l be right there... i phoned the garage earlier to see if i could have the old coil pack back and he got defensive and said it was dead and it was the problem... so i'll not be able to rest it to see if it is infact dead.

I had the same problem a few months ago, garage told me it was the coil pack however i got one from Ebay which was much cheaper than they quoted and the problem remained. Changed the plugs next with no joy and then after reading on here it could be the HT leads got them and hey presto problem solved.
I still have the original coil pack which should be fine so will do for a spare.

Sorry to hear you got ripped off but at least the car is running fine now.

glad you sorted your cheaper than me though lol. i'm thinking about going to a breakers yard or scrappy and seeing if i can get a few bits off a brava to keep as spares just in case like... misses wont be happy but hey gotta have spares
