hi i have a bravo 1999 1.2 80 and i have a leak somewhere that i cant find, ive had a mechanic look round it, he says the head gasket is fine, the water pump is fine and all the pipes and heater matrix is fine, is there anywhere else to check? it goes from max to min in about a week. it never overheats, the fan kicks in fine and the heater works fine, im baffled. any ideas would be appreciated!! thanks

u could look oil... if u see anything off with that... u can make sure its hc... theres alot of threads about the signs :D
well basically theres 2 ways for water to dissapear:
1 internally - it gets to burning chamber and goes out from muffler
2 external - leaks out somewhere (for some time it could leak to some other place but not forever)

had the head gasket tested yesterday by putting the dye in the water to check for exhaust gases and there wasnt any but the mech said get a new radiator cap cause theycan fail sometimes so guna try that!!

Sometimes when you start the car, does it sound like it's only firing on three cylinders for a short while then clears itself ???

Take the spark plugs out the next time your water has dropped, I think you will find that there will be one off them wet with water (poss No4), belive me I tried every other thing before bowing down to the fact that the head gasket had gone.
Nows I've done the head gasket she's running sweet as a nut.

she runs sweet as a nut now its was the fact i was losing water and couldnt see where, ill take the plugs out and have a look! but like i say i had the gasket checked for emmissions etc and it hasnt gone cause there wasnt any!!
