Question Brava 1.6 16V Engine Info ?

Hello, I'm new to the Fiat Brava, so any help here will be appreciated greatly.
I just bought my wife a 1996 Brava 1.6 16V with 60k on the clock with one owner & full service history I got it really cheap. The only fault a knocking bottom end.
I located a engine out of the same year as mine & similar mileage from a fellow car breakers...but the engine was like the Old Geyser when I removed the plugs & spun it over. Gutted.
I removed the head & found the head gasket totally decayed & half a piston stuck on the side of the cylinder. Even more Gutted. He says he can get another engine but it is out of a later car 2000/2001.My engine has alloy inlet manifold & this other engine has plastic.

The question is...Will this engine be compatible for the car ?

I think if its a '00 1.6, it should fit in. However, in '01 i believe they changed the inlet manifold location ( the catalytic converter is by the manifold aswell) so i don't think a '01 will work with your one.

Also, they changed from a cable throttle body to and electric one in '01 so you would have to change that aswell + the ECU. Basically, 00 or under and you should be fine just as long as its a 1.6 Brava/Bravo or Marea engine.
