Hi FF people :D
Is it true that the engine 1.6 16v 103HP from the bravo, brava, marea etc... has Variable Camshaft?

Best Regards

no only the hgt had a timing variator if that's what you mean

the 1600 is a normal twin cam howether it does have vernier cam shaft pulleys ie you need locking tools and to find top dead centre in order to change a cambelt

Yes is that what i meant :D
vernier cam shaft pulleys what is that?

Best Regars

it's were the cam shaft sprockets can be rotated in relation to the cams when the fastening bolt is losened there fore they are not fixed in place

this is done in manufacturers case for more acurate engine timing they are normaly allowed to turn only one tooth or so either way

in tuning you can buy vernier pulleys to replace fixed pulleys on a regular car in order to drastically change you cam timing to raise or lower your power band and adjust other settings such as valve overlap
