Hi All,

Wonder if anyone can offer some help.

Having read some quite interesting info on the Bravo Guide, I decide to go for a Sony T69 CD Changer - seemed quite straightforward enough...but I seem to be missing something quite crucial.

I got a Sony T69 CD changer for my Fiat Brava 1.4SX, which came with the 5m ISO (?) bus lead and audio leads.

I looked in the boot of the car and I found the dangling CD changer lead and connector (though no audio leads). The problem is that the connector is completely different to the one on the Sony CD changer. The one already installed in the car has 8-pins in it (not ISO), bit like the old AT connectors computer keyboards, but there is 8 pins instead of 5.

Does this mean that I need to get this "Sony AFAS007 CD/MD Adapter"?

Is this a direct connection between the dangling CD changer lead in the boot of the car and the Sony CD Changer unit, or do I have pull the 5m ISO cable all the way back from the boot to the back of the head unit itself ?

Many Thanks for any help/suggestions (y)

Correct me if i m wrong but i m sure the leads already in your car will only fit a certain type of multichanger which i belive is a Grundig one.

You would prob be best to get the extra part, although they are quite pricey and hard to find. Type in the full code name (AFA00***) in a search engine and it should bring up a retailer that sells them. Think mine was about £50

Hi Jonnyyeah,

Thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention that the radio is a AD182H.

Your are absolutely right.

From my booklet it mentions Grundig MCD30, and I believe it is compatible with MCD36 or Sony T69 from various sources. I now take this to mean that the radio can communicate with these CD changers, but does not necessary mean the cables will connect directly.

I will get the Sony AFAS007 Adapter. Hopefully it will sort me out.

yeah good luck mate, hope it sorts out the problem

If you ve got the instruction book for your Mutlichanger, could you have a look in the trouble shooting section for what to do if the c.d thing gets stuck in the changer!

Can't seem to find my instruction book!

Hi Jonnyyeah,

The adapter looks to have sorted me out.

The (2nd user) CD changer did not come with an instruction manual, so I cannot look up the troubleshooting stuff for you. However, I did find a multi-language Sony T69 Install manual on the web, but it does not describe how to deal with the magazine being stuck in the changer. Sorry.

I guess you tried pressing the EJECT button with the CD Changer plugged into a compatible head unit. I thought about getting the magazine filled up with CDs before installing the unit, but I did not see any obvious buttons to force out the magazine, so left it to avoid damaging it. Anyway, once the unit was connected up to the head unit, pressing the EJECT immediately pushed the magazine out.

Perhaps some kind person(s) on this forum may have some ideas.

never seen a manual way of removing magazines with no power on any changer ive owned.all i can suggest is unbolting the unit and having a good look to see if anythings jammed inside the magazine mech',failing that take off the covers and do the same.might be a release inside the unit, accessable once opened.
