just took hgt for an mot it failed, (n)
As you guys know i only paid £80 for the car!!
Theres quite a few advisorys but nothing to worry me too much, now the bad bits,
1.nearside rear and o/s brake hose excessively corroded.
2.Nearside rear (load sensing valve to flexi) Brake pipe exccesively corroded.
3. Nearside rear raduis arm has exccesive play in a bush.
4. Service brakre efficentcy below requirements. 48%??!?!
5. Both rear brake recording little or no effort.
6. Bottom arms gone.
I think 4 and 5 are because it just needs pads and discs but i could be wrong. :bang:

priced up all of the bottoms arms raduis arm kit, brakes and just the hoses came to £144.95

Just wondering whether anyone has changed all of this before and possibly tell me how easy hard it is too do, (me just having a bit of mechanical knowledge lol)
and is it really worth doing it?
i dont know the going rate for a half about hgt!!
thanks for any help and info!!!!!!!

hi mate ive recently just done the bottom arms on my hgt no problems with them mate easy job.the only thing you will have trouble with is the rear arm bushes they can be a bastard to do.only thing i can recomend is get the rear of the car as high aposs to get better access(y)

Sounds like the main thing is all the rear brake pipes and bits, they clearly want doing. I think they are famous for corrosion. Maybe the calipers are bad too.

On my 2001 Brava I needed 1 doing in autumn 2007 (N/S), I think the tank needs dropping for this. Then in autumn 2007 during the MOT the O/S pipe actually burst during the efficiency test  (it had been noted as corroded, but even so....)

thanks very much guys!!!
cant believe i have to drop the tank tho :bang:
o well must get it sorted for santa pod on the 22nd march!
any one wanna come up???
thanks again for your help/suggestions guys,
most appreciated (y)
