hi all i have a leak on the drive shaft worn oil seal is this a mot fail ? and how much should it cost to fix the car is a brava 1.2 16v sx 2001 thanks to you all

Hi Steve,
A gear oil leak is not an MOT failure.
Ensure though that you keep your gear oil topped up.

These usually leak when disturbed or damaged when the driveshaft has been removed and reinserted, a clutch change etc.

The seal itself will be quite cheap. The work involves pulling the driveshaft out of the gearbox popping the old seal out and placing in the new one. Not sure on price, would estimate a garage to charge around an hours labour plus the part plus gear oil.
