Hi guys i'm new to site so i really hope u can help.

I bought a Fiat Brava (2000 reg) for the girlfriend over the summer time, so didnt see the problem, with the weather weve had its been raining alot and know the driver and passanger carpets are wet.

The car has a sunroof, check the roof lining around the sunroof and its dry. Any1 had this problem? or any1 maybe knows whats causing it?

Thanks chris

i have the same problem with my brava, i have noticed that the drivers footwell the carpets get very wet, and sometimes even a puddle in it lol

so can anyone help us ?

check your heating radiator, in 99% when is damaged it makes your carpet wet, and in bad situations your Airbag computer goes to garbage...

Check it, before its too late ;)

Check the sunroof and aerial seal properly checking for wet patches visually from inside the car is not enough. Remove the rubber strip around the door to check for any water congress or signs of mould or dampness in the ceiling area.

Water in the footwells usually comes from leaves blocking up the drainage holes under the scuttle panel. Open the bonnet look in the far corners where the bonnet hinges are and you'll see this...

Check that they are clear, remove any sludge, mud and/or leaves. If water gets here and it reaches a certain height it overflows behind the bulkhead into the car and making the carpets wet.

On my old Bravo I had water entering the car via the speakers. The cover around the speakers wasn't seated correctly and water found a channel made by the cover and slowly dripped into the car, onto the side door trim, which then ran down onto my carpets. However i did swap my speakers hence the cause of the problem here.

Worse case scenario is as mentioned above by KbH40, the heater matrix might of gone, but you'd notice that if the incar heating went funny.

my heating is the same as its always been, and the sunroof has been checked and its not that, i will have to check the bonnet tomorrow morning before i go work

Thanks guys had a look round sunroof, when i put my hand round the sunroof, between the lining and metal roof and noticed its wet, but it was cold yesterday and there was ice, could this may be condisation? Or should i replace the sunroof seal.

thanks chris

Had a feel of roof lining but its dry. But when i did purchase it there were a couple of stains near the sun visor on both sides, but the valtor got these out and has never returned.

Signs of a leaking sunroof. Buying a new sunroof seal wont solve the problem as its the sunroof frame causing the problems and not the seal itself. Vaseline or similar smeared around the sunroof seal will do the trick for a while as long as you dont use the Sunroof.
