hi all ive just noticed that niether of my blue keys have a blip in them so im unable to work the alarm or central locking remotely. if i get a spare key with a blip in it can i sync it to my car, ifso how do i do it. i have the red master key and a 4 digit security code on a small piece of card..my car is a p-reg bravo 1.8hlx..thanks.

on my 1998 1.8hlx the remote codes were on paper keyrings.

you can buy a second hand remote key and try to use your code, but i wouldnt be too hopeful.

hi jug i have these little pieces of paper with 4 digit codes on them..one has 8.0.2.6 and the other is 1.6.0.4 theres 2 of each of these codes. they are on a keyring with the red master key. would any of these be the code for the keys.

well in that case you can get some new remote keys cut to your car using the red key programs them to the engine imobiliser

and using one of the 2 codes you have on paper will open the memory to program a new remote key the new keys will come with there own respective code on a piece of paper you can open the memory with any code up to 8 stored alredy in the memory so it's looking good for you

unfortunately the prosedure for doing it is pretty complicated for both imobiliser and alarm remote side

also it's posible someone has got normal keys as the alarm remote locking system may have failed so you might be wasting your money you need to first identify if the receiver in the interior light is working buy pressing the button on it and see if it flashes it's light atall

also if you lock and arm the alarm with a new key the non remote keys will be no good for driving the car as you will not be able to disarm the alarm with them

theres also the posibility someone simply lost the keys and has replaced them with the cheapest option the non remote keys or they didnt realise they had the remote codes or what theye were for never know

i may copy the pages from the manual on remote programing as it seems allot of people may find them usefull

if you live close to me i'll program them for you if you like

it does sound as though you have your remote codes (y)

here is a pic of what the code keyring looked like for my bravo

it isnt complicated imo. you can do it yourself in a couple of mins.

to do immob:
you need red key and at least 2 blue keys. all 3 must have different codes to each other (so no copies of each other)

insert the red key & switch ignition on, wait for the code light to go out, remove red key and insert first blue key & switch ignition on, wait for code light to go out, remove first blue key and insert second blue key & switch ignition on, wait for code light to go out, remove second blue key and insert red key & switch ignition on, wait for code light to go out, remove red key. done!

to do remote:

-Press the button that is between your courtesy light and the ultrasonic sensors on the roof of your car (near sunroof switch)
-Release the button after a second or two
-After a couple of seconds the LED will flash once
-Enter the first digit of your 4 digit code by pressing the button the relevant number of times
-After a couple of seconds the LED will flash once
-Repeat this for the next 3 digits of the code.

If the code was correct the LED will flash for approximately 10 seconds.
(If the code was incorrect the LED will remain on for 10seconds, so start from the beginning when the LED goes out)

-With the LED flashing press and hold the button on the car and then press and hold the button on the key. Keep them both pressed until the LED stops flashing and remains on.
-Release the button on the remote, then the one on the car.

now what heppens next depends on the age of the car. some cars have a red LED others have a green LED.

for a red LED, if the programming was successful the LED will flash 6 times, but if it was unsuccessful the LED will flash 18 times

for a green LED, if the programming was successful the LED will flash 8 times, but if it was unsuccessful the LED will stay on for a 8 seconds.

erm no it will have to be the right one see if fiat will give you an exchange price they normally do for things like that just means you have to take em the old one

and dont try any programing with flat battery you may damage or confuse ecu's

erm well when i said it's confusing i spose the fiat manual makes it sound confusing jug puts it very simply lol
