First thread so be nice........:)

I have been a member a while and have been trying to sort a problem on my R reg 1.4 Brava. From reading previous Q&A i think my TPS is not working correctly.

I get good running some day and on others it will be really sluggish and almost (but never actually) stalls.:bang:

My main problem is i have been looking at the throttle housing and i would like to try some of the fixes suggested but just one important question..

Which bit is the sensor????

I think it is the black plastic box which is on the back of the housing(looking from the front of the car) if so then great as i have some torx head sockets.

Just tell me it is not on the left side as i don't have the right tools to remove that bit...

Before you all suggest it, i have done all the other obvious stuff like changing air filter, checking fuel supply, buying new HT leads and plugs, none of these have worked, i also have put a bid in on a Haynes on ebay.

the attached diag shows the TPS (no.3 on diag)

Thanks Jug,

I had a feeling you would have the answer, unfortunately it is the part I do not have the correct tool for. Do you know the correct name for the torx fitting with the pins in the middle so i can buy some?

Has anyone fixed this sensor with sucess yet? if not where can i buy it from please?
