I've been searching for that rubber gromet/valve thing in the engine bay which could be blocking my rear wiper jet. But cant find it. I follow the white tube from the tank round to where the fuse cover is. Then it connects to a black tube and disappears under the windscreen. If anyone can help locate the rubber valve from the pics below or a pointer that would be great. thanks

If you rear wiper jet isn't working but you can hear the pump turning then the most common problem is that the tubing to the washer jet has popped off. Remove the rear plastic cover on the boot door, 4 screws and a long screw driver will do. Then locate the pipe and reconnect.

Never heard of the rear washer jet pipe being blocked at the front of the car.

Still having trouble understanding me then goto

the bit you're looking for is the non-return valve. you're very close to it in the pics, but its hidden behind the rubber strip so you cant see it.

pull the strip up at the passenger side, you'll see the black hoses that are connected with a black plastic bit in the middle.

its a very common problem. you can get cheap repalcement one-way valves at pet shops (for aquarium use)

I've never known non return valves to block water, just to take a long time for the water to reach the nozzle jet or create loss in pressure.

Ok ive opened it all up today. First i took the fuse cover and other panel screws off:

which then revealed this rubber thingy in the corner:

with very little space for manoeuvre it was difficult to take out from its position:

but is that the non return valve or is it this one that looks like a tube connecter:

I've also taken the rear wiper motor off to check the nozzle. Removed the black tape which was around the nozzle:

Tried the rear wash stalk for a while but didnt get a drop of water out. Am i correct in assuming that the connector on the motor is only for switching on the wiper (can leave it disconnected to just spray water)? Although i tried it both ways just in case.

Also im wondering could the relay be faulty or perhaps there is a blockage in the tank etc? Is there a way i could check the relay and switches arent faulty? The front washers work fine and when i try the rear washer i can hear the sound quite loud but no spray.

Can anyone help with identifying which one is the valve and how to remove it? Would i need to disconnect the water tube from the tank end first?

cheers

Can You Hear It Trying To Pump??? The One Way Valve Is A Connector In The Pipe, If I Remember Its WereThe Pipe Goes From White To Black And Has A Arrow On The Top It Should Be Located In The Black Trunking To The Right Of The Engine

so close yet so far.

the attached pic has a red arrow pointing to the rear wash pipe. the non-return valve is to the left of the point i have arrowed. follow the pipe to the black plastic bit, its only a few inches along the pipe from the arrow.

btw: yes the connector on the motor is only for the wiper, nothing to do with the washer.

Thanks to all for pointers. Managed to get the old valve out and temporarily fitted some spare tube to check water comes out at the boot end (for the first time). I just need to get a new valve and wiper blade for the rear before i put it all back together.
