hi all,
i work with a guy that has an r32 skyline and he was tellling me a really good way of cleaning your engine that he found by complete accident.

all you do is when you need to change your oil, fill it up but add two litres of diesel into it. then ruint the car for about half an hour. next completely drain all of the oil and diesel from the system and put in the new stuff.

the reason this works is because the diesel will break down any carbon deposits and any other crap in the engine.

trust me it really does work. were not sure however if the amount of diesel to oil should be relative to the engine size as this has only been tried on his skyline lump which is obviously bigger then my bravo and anything like a cinq or whatever.

Heard of this before but never used it for following reasons:

1. Price difference between 2l of diesel and a tin of oil flush is small.

2. You have to drain 2l of oil to get diesel in and then run car with dilute solution for half an hour. Therefore extra work for small cost saving and i'm not too happy about running with thin oil even if only for half an hour.

3. Don't like the idea of contaminating my new oil with any leftover diesel.

My own personal opinion and reasons why I myself will not be using that method. You may make your own mind up. :)

Howthe hell did he find it out by accident?????

Did he carry some diesel bast his car when he was putting new oil in and slip and pour it into the oil filler hole???

i have for years used a 50/50 mix of petrol and 20w50 cheep oil to flush engines, i drain old oil out remove filter and wash it out with petrol, then put it back then put mix in, turn engine over a few times then drain it all out, put a new filter on then nice new posh oil, then the oil stayes clean untill the next change :)
