Just looking for some help re the drivers seat in my 1998 fiat brava.

The small handle on the door side of the seat whicih higher/lowers it has somewhat broken and now the seat slumps to the left. It appears as thought the 2 wheel cogs which higher/lower the seat have disconnected from each other feels as though some bit of metal next to it has snapped as there is a rough feeling on the metal net to the cogs. although i am unsure.
the seat still runs fine on the rails wehn moving it back and forward but obviously it not very comforatable.

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before? and how i best go about fixing it, if it can be fixed or should i go to a scrappy and try and get a new seat ?

How easy/hard is it(normally) to remove seat and replace it??? and also
does anyone have any idea very roughly how much a scrappy would charge for a seat??? just so i have something rough to go on

replacing the seat is easy, there are 4 bolts holding it to the car's floorplan, and also a wiring connector underneath. £20 is usually what you pay for a single seat, often more if its from a higher spec model or if its leather.

what i should have asked on the last post as well is, does the replacement seat have to come from a Brava?

Seat can come from brava, marea or bravo (will flop down though) not sure about puntos etc.

But definatly the bravo brava and marea ones will fit. all you need is a 5mm (iirc) allen key. I broke my bravo seat and when to a scrapyard got a seat from a marea and swaped my bravo seat with the marea one in the carpark. 5min job.

As jug said £20 is the price you should expect to pay for a single seat.

My driver’s seat was a bit loose on the left side. I noticed a loose bolt on the up/down mechanism. Unfortunately I could tighten it in the car I had to pull the seat out to tighten it, but its all fine now

I noticed in my local scrap yards bravo/a drivers seats are always pillaged.
