| blessed are the apostates | Re: Brava Revving itself (1.2SX) check for a vacuum leak on the intake, even a cracked hose can do it. if there is no leak, try resetting the throttle position sensor range: disconnect your battery, wait half an hour, reconnect the battery, switch key to MAR, wait 90 secs, switch key to OFF, wait 90 secs, start engine, wait 5 mins, take for a drive, switch engine off, now switch engine on and idle should be back to normal. failing that, try adding washers between the throttle position sensor and the throttlebody, that usually cures it (seriously!). if that doesnt work then it is dead and you need a scrapyard throttle position sensor (couple of quid), after fitting use the above resetting process.

| Re: Brava Revving itself (1.2SX) Another theory coined by a guy on autokacik.pl is that the loom going from the sensor to the ECU oxidates with time, the resistance changes, shorts may occur and that fools the ECU. He claims to have replaced the wires which solved the rpoblem of unstable revs for good. As this does not incur any costs, try fiddling the loom first with the engine on and see what happens.

| Re: Brava Revving itself (1.2SX) sounds to me like the inlet manifold is buggered it will more than likley be the clip cover that holds the butterfly inside in a straight line part will cost anything from £60 second hand upto about £250 brand new from fiat try putting in a search engine on the internet 'find a part' then put your details in and within 24 hours you will have a couple of companys around the uk ring you with the part. hope that helps you. ![]()

| Re: Brava Revving itself (1.2SX) hello, thank you for the replies. I took the throttle position sensor out and started the engine. it worked fine. no revving. I put it back and it started again. I am going to change it with another one. My car is V reg. I found one from T reg. Will T reg. one work on my V reg. ? thanks
