Re: HGT injector light

It's not just a faulty MAF that can make the injector light come on. A dodgy lambda sensor amonst other things can cause it to come on too... and make the car run rough..

Best bet is to take into a decent friendly garage and get a diagnostic test done. That should give you a definitive answer to the fault.

If it does turn out to be the MAF... stay well away from those cheap ones on eBay, they are utter rubbish and you'll get the same problem within hours..

Genuine Bosch ones aren't cheap.. Fiat will take £180ish of your well earned cash.. they can be bought cheaper, but make sure they are genuine parts.

Re: HGT injector light

while i agree a diagnostic is the best way to find out what is wrong, it is also expensive, so you should always try the easy common sense things first. for example unplugging the MAf and then driving to see if you get more power above 3000rpm is free and instantly tells you if the MAf is causing powerloss. you can visually check the condition o flal sparkplugs to identify over fueling or under fueling or a problme on one specific cylinder. you han go to an MOt testing station to find out if your lambda is ok for free (if you ask nicely). then if you were still stuck a diagnostic would be your only choice. at £50-65 and with no guarantee it will help, a diagnostic isnt something to rush in to (neither is randomly buying new sensors hoping to get lucky)
