there is no one best place for the earth, any good earth will do. what is a good earth? a direct connection to the metalwork, so for example the boot floor.

i fitted my crossovers behind the dash, and then used the original speaker wires that go from the car to the door.

I have fitted my tweeters behind my door mirrors on the plastic base. I have elec windows so i have room there. I fitted my crossovers in the arm rest in the front door (not visible), if you remove the door card its hollow. Either use 3M sticky pads and stick them in there after the wirings done or screw them in like i did. Remember all my wirings in the door, no need to mess going into the car and rewiring. I also have the original fiat tweeters working too.

For the rear, i have the tweeters in the C pillars mounted high, the crossovers are screwed to the sidewall of the carpet in the boot, a small hole and the wires secretly disappear.

In case your wondering i have components all round.

Also for an earth depends where the cable is, front of the car, in the boot etc. As jug mentioned theres a good earth in the boot. I have my sub connected to a bolt found on the drivers side, you'll need remove most of the the plastic trim to get to it. Not a hard job.

I'm not sure if you misunderstood the question Joske, what i was trying to find out was how do i run a wire from the crossover to the tweeter (which i have in the standard tweeter hole on the dash), i cant seem to find a way through as the black rubber grommet between the door and the car seems to be plugs rather than just wires

2) where is the best place to fit my crossovers and how do i get the wires from the inner of the door to the inner of the car?

Sorry, i was referring to your question number 2. The way i did it, required you not to mess between the doors. Messing with the block connector is hit or miss. There are free points on the connector but drilling into the free holes and catching another wire in the process is very likely. Take your time and be patient. To find out what wire is what, check the colours at the back of the radio, then get to the connector on the door and check colours. :)

Where is your cross over, in the door or in the car?

how did you find out which wires were for your speakers? the thing thats in between the door and car is like a metal plug so how did you figure the wiring out?also how did you find the wires that go up to the tweeters?

i used the wiring diagram in haynes to determine the wire colours.

i didnt use the original tweeter wires, i laid new ones from the crossover to tweeter. i chopped the wires going from headunit to speakers and connected them to the mid output on the crossover. i then fed the input to the crossover from my amp and connected it to the crossover, but if you were using your headunit you would connect the other end of the chopped wires to the input of the crossover.

if you dont want your tweeters on the dash then fitting it all in the door is a good idea, that is what i've done on my alfa. i didnt do that on my bravo because i wanted my tweeters on the dash in the original position.
