ok after having changed the discs for drilled andf grooved ones, and fitting new pads, my brakes are now really crap.

if i pump them i get some braking, but one pump doesnt really slow car down at all.

how can i tighten them up so to speak. theres prob small gaps between pads and discs, as had to make calipers wider to fit brand new pads

is this causing it?

help please as i need to stop

This will not cause your issue. As 1, the brake piston will always take up the slack. 2, your pistons are still only coming out a mm or so to make the pads contact the disc.

Is more likely that your brakes need bleeding.

ps, how did you widen the caliper?

on the rear calipers, i pushed these back up with the rewind tool.

then for the fronts, i undid the nipple for the most part when pushing them back. when doing the rears i pushed some fluid out the top of the fluid pot. do you think bleeding them is it. how exactly do you do it.

would undoing thefront nipples and letting the fluid run out the tighten them up do it.

will the fluid start coming out on its own if i simply undo the nipples?

and do you have to do both sides? bled a couple clutches before, but never brakes yet

And if you dont know what you are doing, ask someone who does to show you or take it to a garage.
