Hi, all. Just found this forum while looking for some help, and everyone seems nice and friendly, so thought i would join.. :)

Basically, iv got a Y reg. 1.2 Bravo, which has got an lpg conversion.

to set the scene, i think my exhaust ( well i know it ) is on the way out, iv used some of that exhaust putty stuff temp, cured it for a few days, now its noisy again..

once or twice b4 i mended the exhaust i heard a pop/bang noise come from the exhaust while i was doing a parking manouver.

now today i was driving home, about 20 mile drive, i heard this pop again when i slowed down in a village. called in at asda, went to set off, and the engine management light came on. so i turned off car, n restarted a few times, but stayed on, i needed to get home, so drove, everything seemed fine. however it stalled once, when it changed between petrol to lpg (it seemed a bit sluggish so i kept it on petrol for a bit longer).. bit unusual... i started up and everything seemed fine now..(but light still one)
when i got home i turned off car, started back up. light gone off......

everything seems great now.. drove car again, all is running fine!! no lights or anything.... :)

so, does anyone know why this happened... does it seem like a major prob or anything, its never done it b4, and all seems ok now :)
could it have been caused by the exhaust does anyone think? or do u think there is something more sinister, especially due to the occasionaly pop?

many thanks

Rob

ahh rite...
you got any idea on cost etc, n would it be best to go to main dealer or any garage tht has diagnostics?

Cheers btw :)

i'd expect the fault code(s) to be related to a misfire on multiple cylinders, which isnt every helpful, but you never know it could have been a sensor giving a dodgy signal and in that situaiton the fault code would give you a very good clue what happened.

misfiring on the 1.2 is very often due to a head gasket leak between 2 cylinders. in some cases this only occurs when the engine is hot. a quick compression test should show if that is the problem.

hi, thanks for the help so far :)
the headgasket was changed about 8 months ago, (the car was my brothers, so i know it was done)
so im hoping that its not gone again this quickly....

will get it taken to the garage as soon as and see what they say, and will just have to keep an eye on it, and hope it was just a sensor bin silly or something.....

Thankss

Rob
