Well, after 6 years and 60,000 miles of dutiful service it would seem that Shabash!'s love affair with her trusty brake pads and discs is over. She's just failed her MOT for the first time on rear brake efficiency, advisory stating that the rear pads and discs are too thin. :(

Still, I think 6 years and 60k miles on one set is still value for money and, having phoned Rog at PowerFIAT a world record! (y)

Apparently, the front brakes are still fine!, as is everything else. (y)

10,000 miles a year.... taking it easy :)

I've never owned a car from new so who knows what set of pads the milkbottle is on....

Only done 800 miles since November due to using hire cars for work but yeah, I try to keep the miles down.

Second owner by the way but made the garage I bought her from put new discs and pads on all round as they were a bit worn.

wow 60k is amazing for the rear pads, i guess you use engine braking a lot.

Anticipation and lift off braking mostly. Not ramming it down the gears, screaming engine stylee. Well, most of the time that is. ;)

Oh and the fronts have the same mileage by the way. :)

Grrrr! New discs and pads all 'round and she still failed (12% Parking brake efficiency). Have had the handbrake cable replaced now so we'll see if she gets through now. Given how good it is she should be OK.

Looking at the discs and pads they had at least another 20k in them. :(

congrats (y)

my alfa needs to go for its MOT next month to somewhere for "specialist" cars because it cant get in to a normal brake effort testing machine with the bodykit. what a bloody inconvenience.

Cheers peeps. All just in time for Brooklands oo. Just a full valet on Thursday to go and I'm all set for the first big show of the year. :woot:

is it really that low?
lower. :)

there is less than 3" clearance between floor and bodykit right behind the front wheels, and also in front of them. :bang:

on my bravo i had to remove the mudflaps to get on the brake machine.
