I have Fiat Brava ELX,yaer 2001. and I have this problem with the Key Code.
The thing is that I have only one blue key,no Code Card.
Ewerything was OK until yestarday when my car could not start.
The reason is that the car does not recognize the Key,the yellow indicator on the dash board just would not dissepear.
MY QUESTION IS:
~What can couse this,
~What do I need to have or to do in order to get a new Car Key,
~Can I simply get a new one from official Fiat dealer in Sarajevo,
~How much will it cost.

To code you need red key and two blue keys, have had this before, you could try disconnecting code box for around five mins to reset, reconnect and try, is a long shot but have seen this work in the past, code box is located above fuse box on right hand side, if unsure, follow lead from aerial around ignition switch to the code box and disconnect all connectors, although have seen this done just by putting hand up by fuse box by someone who knows their job, did this, cured problem, customer was well inpressed, saved him a lot of money

but I have just one more qestion.Where is this code box located.Is it inside of the car,or under the hud.You said that it is located above fuse box on the right hand side.Where,under the stearing whel,or under the hud,next to the engine.

1. the cause can be many things, often a bad connection between the igniiton switch aerial and the codebox behind the dash, wiggling the wire fixes it. another common problem is the power supply to the immob, either a bad connection or a rusty fuseholder in the engine bay.

2. it depends on the problem, but worst case scenario you need a set of keys, locks, ecu & immob codebox, all taken from a single car.

3. no you cant. they can not rpelace the red key, so they will charge you for brand new parts lsited in 2. above, which will cost as much as thec ar is worth.

4. from a scrapyard it wont cost too much, under £100. fitting is easy.
