| Starter motor fell out I have a 99 Brava 1.9 JTD 105 ELX and I had to call out the RAC last night, because when I went to start the car I got nothing but the loud noise of the starter motor. The RAC bloke found the starter motor to be hanging out with all but one of the bolts missing. Thankfully he was able to relocate the one bolt and tighten it enough to get the car started. Has anyone had(or heard of) this type of thing happening and should I be doing more than buying new bolts and putting them in with nylock(if there are any threads left of course)?. Cheers. Ian.

| blessed are the apostates | Re: Starter motor fell out i've never heard of this happening before. all i can think is that someone hasnt correctly tightened the bolts in the past. its also possible that they only replaced a single bolt. get some bolts fitted and i'm sure it will be fine. | ||

| Re: Starter motor fell out Cheers Jug, I had a clutch and dual mass flywheel replaced in January so I guess that could have been the cause, but I would have expected it to fall apart before now. I'll stick some new bolts in and see what happens. Cheers. Ian.
