Hey guy's.

Well this year with my Bravo (1.6) has not been a good one. Even though i've had it for about 8 years, the past 6 months is when all the problems started. First i had to have the Clutch Assembly replaced, then the slave cylinder was leaking and then most recent the alternator went. Is this car trying to tell me something? It's a T Reg 99 and only done 38k on the clock. Not much i know. Still in very good condition.

Now for the latest saga. About a week ago when i started up the car from cold, i noticed that it was juddering like crazy. I thought maybe it was just the cold. Anyway once it had warmed up and i started driving the juddering was still there, but in 2nd gear it was dead slow to accelerate.

At this particular point the injector light wasn't on, but about 2/3 hours later it started to flicker on and off about every 1-3 seconds. Now a week later it is on most of the time and performance is a crap.

This morning when i was driving it, initially the juddering was still there and no acceleration, but all of a sudden while driving in 2nd i felt an immediate boost of acceleration and the juddering had gone. Also the injector light went off as well. This lasted for about 3/4mins and then the injector light came back on and performance dropped again.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

Its a 1.6 and i would say that it is most likely a injector failing. Easy job to do once you know how.

Theres loads of threads on here about injectors, do a search.

You can test the injectors with a multimeter to test the resistance.

Do a search for '1.6 injector multimeter' :slayer:

definately sounds a lot like injector failure. as previously stated there are hundreds of previous threades on this topic, inlcuding details instructions to diagnose and repair it. scrapyard injector will cost £5 and its an easy enough DIY job so dont worry.
