Hi all, just a quick question. I have a bravo 1.4 12v and I have recently noticed a slight ticking, more of a knocking noise coming from the front right side of my car. I have brought it to a few garages and they say its nothing serious but they dont know what it is. Its now getting louder and faster. Could it be something loose, or a exhaust problem? Coz i aint got a clue?

It would be nice if someone out there could help?

Does this noise happen at a particular engine speed or road speed? it would help the diagnosis if you could give us a few more clues.

try taking off the wheel trim, as odd as it may seem it maybe whats making the ticking noise.

I have a 1.4sx Brava, R reg and having a knocking/grinding noise from the front when I turn tight (either direction) and slowly, I've to take it into the garage as they think it may be the driveshaft - has anyone else ever had this problem? Any advice/stories would be very helpful. I've recently had all the locks changed (ignition barrel collapsed) and the steering stalk replaced (lights died completely) and don't want another expensive repair! Please get in touch if you know of any other common problems with this age/make of car I should be looking out for. Thanks again.

listen to gearbox could be that, could be a bearing or somthing.

Try checking the tightness of your wheel nuts. When i had my alloys fitted, i heard a slight knocking/grinding noise coming from the front right. I found out that all i needed to do was tighten them, all the noises went away!

Somethings gotta go wrong 'cos i'm feelin' way too damn good!

I also had a knocking noise which came from the front of the car, when i checked out the front end i spotted there was a bolt missing that holds the bumper to the car. i sorted that out and now there is no noise[8D]
