For the past few week my bravo 1.6 on a W plate has been running 'sluggish' and when coming to a stop like traffic lights the engine hunts and revs drop to around 400 nearly cutting out. there is no injection warning light on dash, placed it on the fiat examiner at work and all is ok, new air filter, injectors tested, timing all bob on changed belt last year, not using any oil or water so running out of ideas. thinking it could be a lazy tdc sensor, not lambda as it does it when cold so that rules that out (open loop system at that time), or the throttle body i could change the potentiometer inside it next week wonder if anyone has any ideas or had this prob before an ideas much appreciated

Exhaust got any leaks?
Mine was rough until I changed it. Dunno.

Hopefully someone will have more of a clue :D

no exhaust leaks fitted a new one not to long ago and a genuine one at that

ta for the reply though

wondering if you can help me my fiat bravo 1.4 sx 12v is cutting out when slowing at junctions i have to keep the revs really hight so it does not stall, my injector warning light keeps coming on. My car was fine but i have left it standing for 10 days it started first time no prob then five mins after it started playing up

Hey guys, answer to all your problems---
Change the crank sensor.
I had the same problem last week, thought it was the injector cable that was not connected properly then this weekend it started cutting out and i had to drop a gear to jump it.
It was pretty dangerous as The steering went hard and brakes were tough to press.

Changed the crank sensor today, and the car is running as sweet as a nut.
I will put a pic up this week.

And merry xmas all, have a nice day...:)

hi im back again. foun out the clicking noise is my relay. i dissconnected the fuel pump and it stopped. the earth lead is earthed as checked it with meter, just dont know what to do next. all the time relay is clicking it wont pump the fuel and when i squeeze the relay clicking stops and fuel pumps but car still wont spark.:bang: im getting really fed up now:cry:

you say you're back, but you have replied to an old thread that you have never posted in before.

if squeezing the relay makes the fuel pump work then i would replace the relay.

since you still have no sparks there is a short list of possibilites you need to cover:
-crank sensor fault (most common cause of no sparks)
-ecu fault (if injector light does not come on at all then it is likely)
-immob system not switching off (code light on dash would remain on when trying to start engine)
-dead coil pack (its the thing the plug leads connect to)
-bad earth strap from gearbox to chassis (if engine is not earthed then sparkplugs cant spark)

hang on a minute, aren't you the guy with the HGT? iirc your injector light is flashing, that suggests an ecu problem.
