Hi i would like some urgent advice on this problem please. I have recently bought a 1999 fiat Brava 16v 100SX. After driving a few days I have found that the fuel injection light on the dashboard remains red even while i am driving. The AA advised me to change the coil which i did at a local garage but that did not help and now i am looking at spending a fortune to get the engine checked. Can anyone advice what could be wrong.

dont guess, the first thing to do is a diagnostic, it costs £65 at your dealer but that is cheaper than guessing and spending money on things you dont need.

if the engine was not running correctly then you have something to use in your diagnosis, but a fault light and no other symptom is more difficult to diagnose without the correct equipment.

hi am having same problem only no symptoms. running great then for whatever reason fuel injection/ engine management light comes car dies, i have read on these threads wait five minutes should start again. problem i have got is when turning key ignition lights come on but no fuel injection light and it will not start unless the light comes on. two days ago had to wait 1 hour to start but since then ran great again. but last night over 1 and a half hours nothing. i have changed lambda sensor / crankshaft position sensor any help would be great

I have exactly the same on mine, it used to be on constantly (a diagnostic could detect no fault) and so i ran it as it was for 18 months. 6 months ago it stopped coming on but a few days ago after all the heavy rain we had it came back on again

Guys as JUG the great said dont walk in blind, have a diagnostic check to solve your problem! Injection light is not only for injectors ( as i faulty believe) but it can cause the light to stay on from several things! If you want you can go to a mechanic (not fiat dealer) to have the diagnostic check there, cause its going to charge you less than a fiat dealer. If the injector light stay on and dont go off then it means that a fault code or more has been registered to memory and only a diagnostic equipment its going to erase the fault!

no fuel injection light at all usually means a problem with the power supply to the ecu, or the earth.
