Hi there,

I have Fiat Bravo 1.6 16v from 12.'96. Everything was fine. Because I make about 20-30 kkm during year, I decided to upgrade my Bravo on BRC gasoline.
It all passed OK, but after a while, I noticed strange sound on benzin. On starting Bravo on benzin it sounds like it works on 1 cylinder !? When I turn it on gasoline it works just fine. I went to mechanic and he put the Bravo on bosch softweare (some kind of bosch diag) and he found a lots of errors. He erased them all. After that Bravo works just fine on benzin as well as on gasoline ?!? Perfect !!
But, few weeks after, I noticed same thing again. And again I went to mechanic to erase this errors. And Bravo works fine again ?!?

Because my mechanic is too expensive, (erasing this errors = 100 eur) I would like to find answers for this strange acting of Bravo on benzin ??!
Or can anybody tell me where to find this Bosch software, or maybe Fiat Diag or FiatExaminer??? To erase this errors on my own ?!

Please help !!

Miro

Did he tell you what the error codes were, they'll be logging some kind of problems which when they build up to enough of them sometimes impede the function of the car due to systems running at default or safe values.

It seem's to me that this errors are irelevant because car works perfect when they are erased from computer. It is all about computer of Bravo and computer of gas ?!? Isn't it ?

what do you mean by benzin or BRC gasoline?

i know in arabic when we say benzeen it means petrol. obviously this cant be what you mean because your car already uses petrol.

it sounds like the problem is the ecu going into "limp home" mode when it detects a serious fault, or by the sounds of your diagnostic result many faults. these faults could be related to the conversion you have done and may simply be sensors going out of range when using the "benzin".

you can buy your own fault code reading/erasing hardware and software, there are hundreds of products available on the market to do this, just make sure the one you buy is compatible with your ecu, and be prepared to use 4 lenghtd of wire to connect the obdII connector to the 3pin fiat connector.
