Looks like these have shrunk over time. And the leading edges are beginning to lift.

That said, they can both be pushed into the groove and then just look a little short.

What's actually under the rubber strips? Could they be removed completely and then just left off the car? Or are we only talking a few £'s for replacement, and if so, would anyone know a rough price and part code, and whether they easy to fit?

:)

you can pull them off. i cleaned under mine when i bought the car, then i treatred them with plastic/rubber conditioner and refitted. they wont be too short when you refit them because you can stretch them slightly.

Thanks, Jug.

Tell me is there any part of the Bravo you've not taken apart? ;)

Your knowledge of these cars is very useful.

After you had treated the rubber, did you use glue to re-stick them? Halfords do a "trim tape", which is made of a compound to the stuff Fiat use to stick the badges on the Bravo - maybe I could use that?

:)

i took them off during the sunroof leak investigation. i didnt use any glue, i just pushed them back into place and they havent budged since.

I had closer look at these over the weekend just gone. Looks like I'm going to need new ones, mine are so shrunken that no amount of stretching them would get them the right length.

£27 each isn't too much I guess. But for a strip of silcon rubber it's a rip-off really, when you consider, for less than that you can by a Front shock absorber!

I can live with it at the moment, but I'm sure you could push other types of weather trim down where the OE trim goes, which which will hopefully be a cheaper option...

:)

I tried to do the same thing but with no success since I realised that the iron filaments inside the rubber were rusting and rust marks were appearing on the fittinf edege of the bodywork. So I bought new ones. The problem is that they fit awful especially where the roof rack brackets are. I aligned the as best as I could but they dont fit tight enough in one place. could this be cos of the way they were in the packaging or should I do something to solve this problem?
