Why is it that on a Fiat when you spray the front windscreen with fluid the wipers dont come on automatically like the rear ones?

The punto didnt do it,

And neither does my new car the bravo!

Just a stupid niggly fault.

PS: just realised today that the radio/cd changer dims in volume when you come to a standstill, quite cool!

Matt

mine does

Well neither my punto or bravo do/did so i asumed it was a fiat thing,

like the 3 second beep for alarm, and how you cant keep the lights on without the ignition,

can it be altered at alll?

cheers,

press the button in and turn the key back to put the sidelights on and remove the key.

stops you accidently leaving them on.

you sure yours dont auto wipe?

Mine dont come on automatically either, and im sure my stereo doesnt get quieter when coming to a stand still

What my windscreen washers do do is not spray out of all four apertures even after poking a pin in all of them, any ideas? It only sprays out of two on each side (n)

Yours is a Marea. :p

Bravos and Bravas don't auto-wipe for some reason. It's good in one way that you can get plenty of screen wash onto the screen before you wipe. Then again the Marea have much more evolved wiper settings with 5 or 6 intermittent speeds, then a constant wipe then super-fast :D

Bit like my tipo of 7 years previous ;)

its not a fault if it never did it in the first place!!:D

Wow, didnt realise the headlights did that, guess i should have read the book, but then who reads about headlights :)

Thought it was a button for the alarm...pffffh

Car is great, designed well except for the wipers not coming on, ah well.

One cool feature is i had a little play and with some alterations of jets i recon you'd be able to spray pedestrians with the headlamp washers...nice, as borat says.

LOL. did this with my uno, adjusted the windscreen ones so they hit pedestrians DIRECTLY in the face (depending on height). extremely amusing especially when pulling up next to a bus stop! haha

i prefer it that the wipers arent automatic, its better to get a good amount of fluid on the screen before you wipe, that way you're less likely to scratch the glass and damage the blades.

Is there any way of getting those scratches out? I think the previous owner believed in only using the wipers when the windscreen was dry and covered with grit!!:bang: :D

getting scratches out of glass is difficult. you need a special cutting compound (usually comes as a white powder which you add water to) and a machine polisher with a selection of discs. basically you take a layer of glass off to smooth it out.
