Found this product today called Rain Clear whilst looking at rain repellents supposed to be better than rainX.
Has anybody tried this or trying it out at the moment.
Seems to be available in a gel or liquid form, dont think its been out long althogh none of the major motor shops seem to have it in or have heard of it(well in nottingham anyway).
It is however available on to buy ebay around £6.95+£1.99pp
Here is a link with more info.

Interesting product, but I find Auto glym resin polish does exactly the same. I use it on the paintwork, as well as inside and out of the glass. Makes water run off the glass in beads, and stops the screen misting up:D It doesn't leave marks/streaks on the screen, and actually gives them a showroom gloss finish(y)

Try it and you will see;)

I've been using resin polish on glass for years. It even hides those marks on the door windows, that build up from going up and down 1000's of times.

And the best thing out for exterior plastics is baby oil. Back to Black etc doesn't even come close. Why? Because baby oil replaces the oils lost from the plastics while they have baked in the sun for years. A few treatments over a few weeks soon brings those grey looking plastics back permanently. Not just a quick fix, like back to black gives you. It's also good for getting the grime out of the interior plastics and leather too (not rubber though) ;)

For rubber, clean fresh gear oil left for 30 mins, then wipe clean, will bring back the softness and remove/improve surface flaking.

I'm a mind full of useless info:slayer:

Did do, i still use Super Resin on my paintwork.
For the windscreen i personally found it doesn't bead up and over like rainX or Rain clear does.
Unless i'm doing something wrong

Thought i would give it another go on your recommendations.
This is the way i did it,
I cleaned the screen with a glass scrub then rinsed it off and news paper dried it.
Then just to be sure i cleaned it again with white vinegar and news paper dried off again.
I then applied a coat of super resin polish, Buffed it up then applied a 2nd coat of resin polish and buffed that up till absolutley clean.
Now to wait and see what happens and how long it will last under wiper use.
Just out of interest, how often DO YOU have to re-apply the resin polish on the windscreen due to wipers wearing it off?

Well after two days of wiper wear the super resin didn't last(n)

I find that the way RainX beads means it is far easier to see through the screen even when there are oncoming headlights.

I would however be interested to hear a better description of the effects of other products though, 'cos when those beads freeze they have a tendancy to tear wipers to shreds & it is SO easy to leave them on when you turn off the ignition!!!

Back in South Africa I bought a 1974 1800 Dodge Husky bakkie (pickup) anyway the thing was gaaied (not in a great condition). One of the minor problems was the wipers didn't work. So I bought a similar product.

A few weeks later a friend and myself planned a roadtrip to the Transkei (truly amazing part of SA). So here we are driving down the Highway and it starts raining. I could sortoff see infront of me with no wipers. Then it starts pissing down, my friend was panicking a bit but I could still see the road so all okay. Then it was like a hurricane hit us, all the cars on the road stopped and put on their hazard lights, but because of this Rain X stuff I could see the road ahead perfectly and I carried on driving.

Conclusion: Great product if you dont have wipers and you drive through alot of hurricanes! (y) (y) (y)

I am currently trying out a product from car plan I bought from motor world in windermere there was an offer on buy one get one free for 7.99

and so far it has out lasted rainex and provides a much better run off affect too

it is a 3 piece kit

first you use this abrasive compound to clean the window so it's spotless
then you mix the other 2 chemicals together and apply them within 4 hours or they don't work any more

i use my wipers allot and it hasn't affected it yet I can even see the transition between wiped screen and non wiped screen so well impressed so far

I'm looking at the economic cost of doing my entire house now

well the box went like this

Nano

sorry only one "a" in carplan

the thing that impressed me the most was the way it brought the screen to a crystal shine again

probably something to do with the glass cleaning abrasive stuff that it comes with

for best affect give the inside of your window a dam good clean aswell
