Hi

I've bought a set of Abarth Stilo Sideskirts, they are currently being painted and I'll be fitting them in a week or so.

Has anyone fitted them before? If you have any tips or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

The fitting kit that FIAT supply looks inadequate to be honest. It consists of three plastic clips that clip the skirt to the sill seam and a tube of glue to stick the upper edge, which is only about 5mm wide, to the car body. I tried it on the car before painting to see what they looked like and fixing them seems quite awkward.

If you have fitted skirts before please feel free to give me any advice you see fit!

Thank you
TC.

err..i fitted side skirts to my sei, so i doubt that this will be very useful.

i just screwed mine on, 2 screws inside rear arch, 2 screws inside front arch and 2 screws inside the door.

i didnt use the glue that came with them, i wish i did now though cause my sub is causing them to rattle against the body work.

Ok, thanks for that Gaz, mine doesn't have that they are purely glue on! [xx(]

I think quite a lot of side skirts are glued on. Not a lot of mechanical stress there so you shouldn't have any problems using the supplied fitting kit.

Of course if i'm wrong you can always come round and hit me with the skirt.... supposing you can find it.;)

Mmm, ok, I've looked at them again and they are obviously ok as they are the original Abarth ones, but they need a lot of pressure applied in order to get them to sit flush against the body, I don't think tape is going to hold the, mmm, puzzling, ideally they'd need to be clamped, but how do you fit clamps??? Asked FIAT about fitting, they said that any drilling will void the Anti-Corrosin warranty, and that's the exact reason glue is the prefered method of fixing these day.

Oh well, I'll struggle on! :(
