After recently realising my car headlights were rather dirty and cloudy I thought I'd try the grit sandpaper tutorial (on wiki) to try and make them look better, after I did one I polished and waxed it to try to see if it looked noticeably better and it looked worse than before :( Does anyone have any idea of what I did wrong or now to get rid of the cloudy look? :D

been covered a fair few times,
do a SEARCH , or post in Punto 2 section
, as it's a common issue

( found some A1 lights on a Punto 2 in my local yard yesterday OX11 area - Oxford)

Not sure how well it does work or if it is advisable but I do recall seeing somewhere about using toothpaste to clean them. Search youtbe I am sure it is on there.

bucket soapy water
1200 grit new if lamps bad
part worn grit if not too bad
then 2000 grit
then g5 farecla and my electric polisher

if lights are not too bad then 20 minutes with t cut can work miracles

in america the bodyshops lacquer the lamps once polished to slow down the aging process the problem ive found is once this lacquer gets old its hellish difficult to get lamps back to anything like new again

to op you roughed em up too much so follow my tips in red or your doomed-----------------------doomed itell yer:D

Yeah, you really need an electric polisher. Some mobile valeters offer a headlamp refurb service now.

Just Bought fiat punto 120cc the headlights where really cloudy so i tried wet n dry fine sandpaper didn't work so i tried coarse sandpaper i scratched it so i tried T cut doing a bit at a time wiping it off quick worked like a dream lights are showroom condition apart from a few scratches

what form of T-Cut..?,

I tried recently with some OLD t-Cut, ( 1990's)
pretty sure the petroleum products in it, were making it cloudier than before, (n)

as others have said, it's fine crazing you need to shift..,

I've ordered the T-cut headlight restorer to try, at £11 it's worth a go , as the professionals charge £30 per light..;)

Meguiars PlastX worked for me but takes quite a few applications and some elbow grease.
