It is a classic hit and run case as it was a corner of road leading to a right angled bend.I was to negotiate a right, that bugger was on his way from right to left. My vehicle had slowed down to zero speed in the process of making a traffic negotiation that it happened in a flash, by the time i saw him coming too close and having realized he hit me.. he continued his course and extended the scratch and sped past before i could follow him, it being a busy road, i was left helpless

Observation:

1. The doors have long seams of his bumper paint stuck with a 0.25 mm dented line across both the doors, the primer paint is visible across the line, there is also a parallel line down below with the same indent..
2. Both doors have deep scuff marks and numerous small dings as a result of this.
3. Slamming the right Front door shut, now results to a flimsy clank accompanying the thud and the area that got hit shivers, as though it had suffered a injury, more force used to slam results to more painful clank and the solid thud feel has completely gone now.
4. The power windows retract UP and DOWN normally. now

Upon Service station's observation, a reinforcement beam that comes inside and which would have been spot welded on the inner side of the door has broken, as a result the door slam causes the door metal to vibrate, being without a reinforcement.

Result: Service station guys have no experience in fixing this issue and are suggesting me for a door replacement.

Kindly provide your views on my problem. Awaiting your replies based on your experience.

You haven't mentioned what car you were in. If it's a pre-water based paint car I'd have a go at the repair but the doors need to come off, be stripped completely, any broken parts repaired (re-welded), dents pushed out from inside as much as possible, blocked (filled), prep'ed (a lot of sanding, more filling, more sanding, more filling, more sanding and priming), re-sprayed (if the paint is a pearl or metallic the doors need to be hanging at the right angle and retro-fitted.

If it's a newer car do an eBay part search and swap the doors over provided there is no pillar, sill or chassis damage.

Either way you're looking at a weekends work so get some beers in, have some mates round and order a couple of pizzas or get the barbecue going. I won't get done any quicker but it will be a lot less of a job. ;)
