As far as i know it

U'll have to rub the whole thing down with Wet+Dry paper

Then 3 coats of primer (is it 3?)
Then 3 coats of the same colour paint
Then 3 coats of Gloss Finish

This in turn could take a while for drying so prepare your car to be off the road for a while

I know wing mirrors take a good day

As for bumpers - a good FEW days

Would you be better off to use Acrylic? To prevent cracking of the paint surface?

I think you need plastic primer mate, because of the flexing the plastic does - personally i'd bite the bullet and have a bodyshop do them... Not an easy job if you don't know what you are doing.
