Painting my wheels

I have got a set of hub caps on my car and they are looking a bit taty. I cannot afford to put alloys on it as the insurance will increase, so I am going to paint them. Any suggestions how? I was thinking:
1) Get the flaked paint off and key them
2) A few coats of plastic primer
3) Paint

But what paint should I use as it needs to be tough and durable?

And also what colours do people reckon? Black? Realy dark grey/anthracite? White?

that grey cinq is yours??? i have the same color and i have to use old sheet wheels - need to clean and paint them - which colour will look best????? any ideas?? thanks, sorry for posting to your topic

Its not a sporting so I don't have alloys. Yep, that Fiat on my Avatar is mine, why?!

Iam asking what colour of wheels do you prefer????? black could look fine, also grey metallic(same as car) ???? anyone have some pictures...

On me sei i have sprayed them black. They were originaly silver but most of that had come off and it was jsut the grey plastic so i rubbed them down throughly with wet nd dry and they just sprayed a few coats with matt black body paint.
I think it looks nice but thats my opinion!

hm i was thinking of black too, but some metallic or pearl
