Having just read the post in the b & m technical thread, I thought I would start a specific thread on the subject, namely, the new bravo is getting blue and me sat nav, will we be able to upgrade our GP's to also get it? Anyone any insider knowledge?

Would like to know as thinking about sat nav now, and would wait before buying a system if I knew this was going to be available to us.

I contacted a Blue&Me developer on grandepuntoclub.com yesterday asking about the possibility to upgrade GP to Blue&Me NAV, and also some details on how the system works. I'm still waiting for his answer (probably he got a little hangover after the Bravo launch party). It would be really silly if the current Blue&Me version in the GP was not upgradeable to NAV. As I see the NAV is only a USB pen drive where all the maps and datas are stored. Probably, the current Blue&Me needs a system update, but then I would think it's good to go. Anyway, fingers crossed. ;)

Considering that It's a Windows mobile... It should just require a GPS handling Application.

Also, there's the GPS receiver.

I have a HTC P3300 (Artemis, O2 XDA Orbit) and it does have a gps onboard.

With the bluetooth serial ports, all that's needed is an application for blue&me to work.

The trick it's the display, without a map on it would be really hard to use.

I'm wondering which manufacturer made the GPS application, TomTom, Garmin, NDrive, etc..

The navigation display is very simple, here is a picture of it. I'm not sure that our GP's dashboard display is capable of doing this.
Also, looks like the USB port has been moved to the center of the console, next to the cigarette lighter.

GXbox you're a Star......thank you very much for the information - It's what I've been waiting for.

Sad news for us. The guy from the Blue&Me Team told me that the GP cannot be upgraded with Blue&Me NAV. Blue&Me NAV has a factory integrated GPS antenna and the dashboard display is different than the one in the GP. I'm pissed. I thought they are smart enough to make it NAV upgradeable. He also said, that future GPs might have the Blue&Me NAV option, but it's still under talk. Well, maybe in the GP Turbo. ;)

That's a real pity.
I'm sure they'll include it in the next stage of cosmetic and trim changes on the G. Punto though.
Never mind just have to go and get a TomTom, they're so cheap now anyway and the proper map is better.
